General Description

The perfect combination

The first neighborhoods of the master-planned East lake community were opened on 3,200 acres of land. This is located south of San Diego within Chula Vista. Presently, the community is flourishing and remains one of the most popular neighborhoods in the South County and has one of the highest real estate prices. East Lake is not far from Chula Vista’s Olympic Training Center for US athletes.

This is one reason why many American Olympians have made East Lake their home. Some of the neighborhoods you can find in this area include:

  • East Lake Greens
  • East Lake Hills
  • East Lake Vistas
  • East Lake Shores
  • The Woods
  • East Lake Trails
  • East Lake Trails North

Residents enjoy several recreational amenities in East lake like the Dolphin Beach which comprises beach volleyball arena, a swimming lagoon, and tanning beaches. Also, there is the Creekside Park and Clubhouse which has an outdoor entertaining area, a 2-acre lake which is surrounded by walking trails and two pools.

The 13-acre Chula Vista Community Park has two lit soccer fields, two lit ball fields, picnicking grounds as well as a playground. Residents also have access to the East Lake Little League Fields, the South Bay family YMCA Sutherland Gymnastics and Family Sports Complex and the Creekside Park which has children’s pool and barbecue facilities as well as a 5,000-square foot swimming pool and a spa.

In 1991, the East Lake Country Club which is an 18-hole 6,000-plus-yard course, was opened and there are over 1,100 acres of parks as well as open space which is presently in use or planned. East Lake has a total of six public schools; Olympic View Elementary, Salt Creek Elementary, East Lake Elementary, Arroyo Vista Elementary and East Lake High School which has a performing arts center within its campus that’s well-developed.

More Features

Residents and visitors of East Lake enjoy several annual events like fun run/walk events, a cycling race (There are bicycle and jogging paths in the entire community), holiday tree lighting, the South Bay Summer Game which is a mini Olympics and the East Lake Summer Sounds concerts in the park.

Since East Lake is close to the Olympic Training Center, residents and visitors enjoy lots of sporting events and competitions which is organized in partnership with Olympic athletes. Also, there are commercial areas in the community such as the East Lake Village Center which has anchor grocery stores as well as other restaurants and stores and the East Lake Village Marketplace which features specialty stores and common retail chains such as Target. The headquarters of some companies like Hitachi and Leviton is at the East Lake Business center.
