San Carlos is a neighborhood on the east side of San Diego. Located quite close to the large Mission Trails regional park, this is a close-knit and affluent community. San Carlos is bordered by Lake Murray, Navajo, Del Cerro, the Mission Trails Park, and Tierrasanta, as well as the city of La Mesa. The community was developed by Carlos Tavares after WWII and also named after him.
