Scripps Ranch is strategically located northeast of San Diego. The community is south of Poway and north of the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar. Originally located on E.W Scripps’ 400-acre ranch—which was later expanded to 1,200 acres—the community is now looking more beautiful than ever. It has come back strong since the devastating 2003 Cedar Fire, which destroyed a significant portion of the north inland of San Diego. This recovery is an indication of the strong sense of determination and closeness among Scripps Ranch residents.

Since Scripps Ranch provides easy access to I-15, it’s home to residents who work in all different parts of the metro area. There are more than 32,000 individuals and more than 12,000 households in the community with many unique subdivisions. Each subdivision also features smaller neighborhoods with their own distinctive features that attract residents. The Ranch has a combination of newer communities, single-family homes, condominium and townhouse communities.

There are also older homes found in more historic neighborhoods such as Rimcrest, Wine Country, and Canberra Park. One common feature of these neighborhoods is the presence of sprawling eucalyptus trees that add charm to the streets.

The public schools in Scripps Ranch are within the jurisdiction of San Diego City Schools, and they include:

Notable companies—including LG Electronics, Nokia, Hitachi, and Lockheed Martin—have their offices in Scripps Ranch. In addition, civilian employees, as well as military members live in the community and work at the nearby Marine Corps Air Station.
