General Description
Vista: Friendly, Funny and Insteristing
Founded in 1882, Vista is a city of more than 102,000 people who love the family-friendly amenities, fun and interesting things to do, convenience to all of San Diego, and more attainable home prices than what is found in many of its coastal enclaves.
Vista’s total area of 18.7 miles rises into hilly landscapes in the residential neighborhoods, while businesses are largely set in the city’s flatter areas. Those businesses are one of the main draws of Vista; There are more than 21.3 million square feet of commercial, retail, and industrial space in the city, and its main business park is home to more than 800 companies.
Tech and research and development companies are two of the city’s growing sectors, which may account for Vista’s median age. The city tends to skew young; its median age of 31.9 makes Vista’s population nearly four years younger than San Diego’s median age of 35.7. Residents of Vista can also ride the light rail system to other San Diego work centers, with two different stations within city limits.
The two best-known parks in Vista are Guajome County Park and Brengle Terrace Park. The schools of the Vista Unified School District are another draw for families; the district encompasses 18 elementary schools, seven high schools, and six middle schools. Vista is also known as the craft beer capital of San Diego, with the most craft breweries per capita of any California city.
The city has two city-owned theaters, the Avo Playhouse and the Moonlight Amphitheater, offering a year-round schedule of Broadway shows and entertainment, and a bustling downtown with tons of events throughout the year, including: The Vista Strawberry Festival; the North County St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Festival; the annual Winterfest & Christmas Parade and, and the Vista Rod Run.
More Features
The culture doesn’t stop there. The Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum, a living-history museum with exhibitions and hands-on demonstrations, is another hotspot in the city, and the Alta Vista Botanical Gardens is an outdoor oasis featuring a Children’s Musical Garden, ponds, prehistoric gardens, and beautiful views of the ocean. Art lovers love Art Beat on Main Street, a creative oasis in downtown Vista with a gallery space, boutique, and wine lounge.
Vista real estate is the ideal choice for families and individuals that seek a lively, safe, and affordable community.
