Residents’ shopping needs are catered for in the Seaport Village – a 14-acre waterfront shopping, dining, and entertainment complex, which perfectly recreates the California harbor setting of a century ago. The Village comprises four miles of meandering cobblestone pathways, winding past restaurants, cafes, ponds, and lush landscaping, as well as a grand total of 57 themed shops.

Children aren’t left out of the life of the district, either: Marina District is home to the New Children’s Museum. The institution empowers kids to think, play, and create through special artistic performances, educational experiences, hands-on artmaking activities, and fun-filled exhibitions. The museum also includes open studios, art galleries, and sit-down cafés—making it a fun stop for adults, too! An adjacent museum park features outdoor art pieces and space for kids to create their own art.

Wine lovers enjoy an urban winery experience at the Marina District, with a wine and cocktail tasting bar at the San Diego Wine & Culinary Center. The center features a bright, open kitchen for chef demonstration, and holds cooking class and wine blending demos.

Marina District is definitely one of the best communities in San Diego to visit and settle down in. It’s close to all kinds of city fun, but still offers a peaceful and close-knit neighborhood.
