Mission Beach, also known as “the Strand,” is a thriving San Diego community constructed on a sandbar between Mission Bay and the Pacific Ocean. The Strand spans about two miles of oceanfront. It’s bounded on the south by the San Diego River estuary, on the north by Pacific Beach, and on the east by Mission Bay Park.
