Oceanside is the third-largest city within San Diego County. This coastal town located on California’s Southern Coast had a population of 167,086 according to the 2010 census. The city sits just south of the Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base. Along with Vista and Carlsbad, it forms the tri-city area, which was initially inhabited by Native Americans until the Europeans came in 1769.

The landscape of what would later become Oceanside was changed with the introduction of farming and grazing in the early 19th century. Just like all of California, Oceanside was under Spanish rule, then Mexican rule, then becoming a part of the United States in 1848.

The city has a large and diverse community, and is home to the headquarters of several companies such as the International Stem Cell Corp., Learning Forum International, Genica Corp., and Bergensons Property Services.
